A new journey awaits, and a wonderful chapter begins. On August 31, the registration for the 2026 international master’s students of Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT) officially began. This is the first time our university has recruited international master’s students. Students from more than 20 countries across the globe have traveled across mountains and seas to gather at DGUT, ready to embark on their brand‑new academic journey here.

President Ma Hongwei and Vice‑President Zheng Yu visited the welcome‑registration site to guide the work. They inspected the registration procedures and various support measures on‑site, had cordial conversations with international students present, and enquired with concern about their travel to China and their adaptation upon arrival. They also acknowledged the careful organisation and close collaboration of all participating departments.

To ensure the smooth and comfortable arrival of the first cohort of international master’s students, the International College, the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation, the Graduate School, together with multiple university departments, worked in close coordination. Careful arrangements were made to deliver solid service and support. On the first day of registration, on‑site staff performed their respective duties and completed enrollment procedures in an orderly manner. The whole process proceeded in a rigorous, standardised and stable manner. A total of 41 new students completed their registration on the opening day. Faculty representatives from the schools hosting the relevant degree programs, including the School of Economics and Management, the School of Computer Science and Technology, and the School of Life and Health Technology, also took part in on‑site work and held face‑to‑face exchanges with new students.

To help new students adapt to their academic and campus life as soon as possible, faculty members from the International College carried out Chinese proficiency assessments on‑site during registration, which will serve as a reference for subsequent language improvement. During the orientation period, the college occasionally organizes new‑student exchange sessions and campus tours. Through face‑to‑face interactions between students and teachers, international students gained a deeper understanding of the university.

At the welcome‑registration site, student volunteers from the School of Literature and Media provided enthusiastic support and services. They assisted with guidance, reception and order maintenance, demonstrating the fine spirit of DGUT students.

With original aspiration as our guide, we march toward a new chapter. As the university’s primary service and management unit for international students coming to China, the International College made full efforts and delivered meticulous support for this welcome event. From prior coordination and planning to on‑site end‑to‑end services, the college effectively safeguarded the smooth admission and campus integration of every international student.

Going forward, the University will continue to deliver thoughtful and considerate services to steadily advance the follow-up registration work. DGUT will accompany every international student on their brand-new academic journey and jointly embrace innovation with the world.
