A bright full moon illuminates traditions spanning a thousand years; a glowing lantern kindles friendship across the four seas. The Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional Chinese festival symbolizing reunion and longing, not only carries profound cultural connotations but also serves as a bridge connecting hearts.

To enable international students to deeply experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture, the International College held a Mid-Autumn Festival cultural experience event themed "Full Moon at Mid-Autumn" in Room 6C204 of the Songshan Lake Campus on the afternoon of September 29, Faculty representatives from the International College and international students from all over the world gathered together to celebrate this festive occasion.

The host, in fluent Chinese and English, gracefully narrated the long history and profound cultural significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival. From the ancient legend of "Chang'e Flying to the Moon" to the traditional customs of admiring the bright moon and savoring mooncakes, the international students became immersed in the unique and warm cultural atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival through the vivid storytelling.

After the theoretical introduction came the fascinating hands-on session. International students eagerly tried their hand at making lanterns: they gave full play to their imagination to draw and assemble Mid-Autumn-themed lanterns that belonged uniquely to themselves. Fun lantern riddle-guessing games were also interspersed throughout the event. Amid the relaxed and free-flowing atmosphere of communication, ideas from diverse cultural backgrounds sparked brilliant exchanges, and waves of laughter filled the air. Amid this joyful atmosphere, everyone sat around together to taste the mooncakes made in-house by "DGUT" . Each bite was filled with the unique "DGUT flavor," tightly weaving the sweetness of the Mid-Autumn Festival with the warmth of the campus.

After lanterns lit up creativity and lantern riddles narrowed distances, a group photo with all participants became the perfect way to carry on this cross-cultural warmth. In the moment frozen by the camera, there was not only the lively joy unique to the festival, but also the warm friendship that transcends cultural boundaries.

This Mid-Autumn Festival cultural experience event deepened international students' understanding of traditional Chinese culture through personal participation, and also narrowed the distance between them through interactions. We believe this festive event will become an unforgettable memory for international students during their study at DGUT.
