In the sunny and refreshing autumn, The International Music and Food Carnival hosted by the Ministry of International Exchange and Cooperation and jointly organized by the International College and the College of Education (Normal School) was held on October 24th at the Songshan Lake Campus of Dongguan University of Technology. As a part of the International Academic Week programme, this cross-cultural exchange activity has being received widespread attention and participation from teachers and students of Dongguan University of Technology. The Vice Minister of International Exchange and Cooperation Li Huan, Vice Minister and Vice Dean of the International College Chen Baiman, Vice Dean of the International College Yang Danyu, and Vice Dean of the College of Education(Normal School) Liu Lei attended the event.

Before the event, the teachers and students of the International College and the College of Literature and Media first participated in the Lingnan Intangible Cultural Heritage International Exchange and Experience Day. By appreciating the Paper Cuttings and lion  performances, the teachers and students has got the sense of traditional Chinese culture.

With a powerful Chinese drum performance, the carnival get started. Colombian student OSPINA VALENCIA LUNA MARIANA and Mexican student RIVAS FIGUEROA YERALDI SARAI's dance performances of  La Invitación and El Son de la Negra were like a carnival in the Amazon rainforest, with each step exuding vitality and energy. Every graceful movements and agile steps showed South American people's love for life.

Accompanied by Mexican student MARTINEZ MENDOZA AHIEZER ISAIAS (Li Yong)Singing, teachers and students immerse themselves in the wonderful  melody of 'Cielito Lindo' , which is one of the most representative traditional folk songs in Mexico, perfectly presenting the cheerful rhythm and romantic atmosphere of South American. Lisa Sun, who works as a teacher in the international college, performed a tea art show,  with the fragrant tea and the Chinese classical music, both Chinese and foreign teachers and students were immersed in Chinese flavor of tea culture.

Tongan students TAPENISA TAIPALETI MAHE and MAAKE MAFl TAOFl brought Tongan singing anddancing performances. The song 'Hufangalupe' is full of melodious and infectious, while the dance 'Tataili' showcasing the unique Tongan culture with its brave and fearless steps and refreshing performance.

DO THANH PHUONG, a student from Vietnam, brought a unique Vietnamese style song and dance performance with elegant posture and agile dance steps, accompanied by melodious ethnic music. She was dressed in the traditional Vietnamese costume Ao Dai embroidered with exquisite patterns, dancing gracefully to the melody of the classic song ' Em Xinh (You Are Very Beautiful)'. Every movements was full of softness and power, perfectly interpreting the elegance and charm of Vietnamese dance.

Guests from the collaborating institution, Peninsula State University of Santa Elena in Ecuador (UPSE), brought an impromptu dance interaction. The teachers at UPSE guided and led the actively participating teachers and students with a cheerful rhythm, vivid expressions, and exquisite dance skills, showcasing the unique charm of Latin American culture, and the scene was extremely joyful.

The interspersed pitching game attracted many Chinese and foreign students to sign up. Players competed on the same field stalemate, and it was difficult to distinguish between winners and losers; the audience under the stage also spontaneously stood in line, cheered when they won, and regretted when they lost and behaved with more devotion than the players. The pitching game enlivened the atmosphere and deepened the teachers and students understanding of the profound Chinese traditional culture.

Accompanied by the melodious melody of 'Eternal Friendship', the Food Culture Salon welcomes a magnificent finale. Chinese and Internaitonal  teachers and students not only taste the unique cuisine from all over the world and different regions, but also  experience the distinctive cultures of different countries and exotic atmosphere of multiculturalism.The performance promoting the collision and integration of ideas, and providing an important platform for cultivating talents with international perspectives and cross-cultural communication abilities.
