一、东莞理工学院简介 DGUT Overview
东莞理工学院是广东东莞的第一所公立普通本科院校，诺贝尔物理学奖获得者杨振宁博士任名誉校长。学校于1990年筹办，1992年4月成立，2002年3月经教育部批准为本科全日制普通高等院校，2006年5月获批为学士学位授予单位，2010年6月与清华大学等61所高校一起被批准为教育部第一批“卓越工程师教育培养计划”实施高校，2010年8月获批为广东省立项建设的新增硕士学位授予单位。2015年9月被确定为广东省重点支持的高水平理工科大学建设单位。学校现已成功跻身地方高校“第一方阵”，位列2019中国大学综合实力排行榜第188位，在全国非“双一流”大学排名中，位居全国第73位；在中国理工类院校排行榜中位列第65位。
Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT) is the first full-time regular university in Dongguan, and is proud to have Dr. Chenning Yang, a Nobel Laureate in Physics, as our Honorary President. Work on establishing DGUT commenced in 1990, and it was finally established in April 1992. Under the authorization of the Ministry of Education, DGUT was approved as a full-time regular university in March 2002 and as a bachelor’s degree awarding university in May 2006. In June 2010, DGUT was listed among the initial institutions for national “Outstanding Engineers Cultivation Project” along with 61 other universities, including Tsinghua University. At the same time, it was approved by Guangdong provincial government as a master’s degree awarding university in August 2010. Furthermore, DGUT was listed as a key high-level science and engineering university construction unit in Guangdong Province, in September 2015. DGUT has risen to a level of “first-grade” local universities, and ranks No. 188 in Comprehensive Strength List of Chinese Universities for 2019, No. 73 among universities not included in “Double First-Class University Plan”, and No. 65 among Chinese science and technology universities and colleges.
现有松山湖、莞城两个校区，共占地2340亩。教职工1500多人，其中正高职称人员160多人、副高职称人员340多人，博士690多人；有普通全日制学生20338人，成人教育学生13566人，迄今为地方培养各类人才约11万人。图书馆总建筑面积45020平方米，累计藏书200万册，有70个数据库、172万册电子图书等数字资源；建成覆盖全校的无线校园网，AP数量6300多个。
DGUT has two campuses at present—Songshan Lake Campus and Guancheng Campus, covering a total area of 2,340 mu (385.48 acres). DGUT has established an excellent teaching team consisting of more than 1,500 faculty members, including more than 160 faculty members with senior professional titles, more than 340 with associate professional titles, and more than 690 with a doctorate degree. DGUT has 20,338 full-time students and 13,566 adult education students. So far, DGUT has nurtured about 110,000 local talents. Libraries in the two campuses cover a total built-up area of 45,020 m2, and have a collection of 2 million books, with 70 databases and 1.72 million e-books. DGUT has built a wireless campus network covering the entire campus, and has established more than 6,300 access points (APs).
学校建有17个实验教学中心，设有18个学院、48个本科专业。建有4个海外创新中心和人才工作站，近三年共面向全球引进海内外高层次人才、优秀青年博士等近500人，包括特聘院士9人，柔性引进院士2人（含外国院士1人），其他杰出人才包括国家杰出青年基金获得者、国家教学名师等18人。大力加强博士后创新实践基地建设，现已招收博士后70人。
DGUT has 17 experiment & teaching centers, 18 colleges, 48 undergraduate specialties, and 4 overseas innovation centers and talent work stations. In the past three years, DGUT has introduced nearly 500 high-level talents and outstanding young doctoral fellows from across the world, including 9 specially-employed academicians, 2 academicians through flexible employment method (including 1 foreign academician), and other outstanding talents, including 18 National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars winners and national outstanding teachers. In addition, DGUT attaches immense importance to the construction of a postdoctoral innovative practice base, and has enrolled 70 postdoctoral fellows.
学校始终坚持以教学工作为中心，以教学质量为生命线，建立了379个稳定的校外实习基地和8个创业见习基地，聘请了53名创业导师；建立了华为网络学院、中兴通讯学院、微软IT学院等特色产业学院；
DGUT has always focused on teaching, and considers education quality as its prime focus. DGUT has established 379 stable off-campus practice bases and 8 entrepreneurship training bases, has employed 53 entrepreneurship mentors, and established various special industry colleges. This includes Huawei College of Network, ZTE College, Microsoft IT College, etc.
近三年，承担了国家科技部重点研发计划课题、国家自然科学基金项目等各级各类科研项目1037项，科研总经费13亿多元，学校先后以主要完成单位获得国家技术发明奖二等奖、教育部技术发明奖一等奖等省部级奖励。建有广东省重点实验室等各类省级科研平台26个，东莞市重点实验室等市级科研平台32个。
Over the past three years, DGUT has undertaken 1,037 scientific research projects, including key research and development plan topics of the Ministry of Science and Technology and NSFC projects, with total scientific research fund amounting to more than RMB1.3 billion. Furthermore, DGUT has won a great number of awards, including the second prize at the National Award for Technical Invention, and first prize at the Invention Award of the Ministry of Education. DGUT has established 26 provincial scientific research platforms, including Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory, and 32 municipal scientific research platforms, including Dongguan Municipal Key Laboratory.
学校与一批世界知名大学签订了合作与交流协议，包括但不限于法国国立工艺学院、美国新墨西哥大学等40多所知名大学。东莞市首个中外合作办学机构——东莞理工学院法国国立工艺学院联合学院（以下）于2017年2月设立，可同时颁授东莞理工学院本科毕业证书、学士学位证书（工学）和法国国立工艺学院学士学位证书。中法联合学院法方师资20人，占专业课总师资50%以上；学校与澳大利亚新南威尔士大学、英国诺丁汉大学等世界前100的名校创新方式正式开展博士研究生联合培养。截止目前，与英、美、加、澳、法国等25个国家和地区的45所大学和科研机构建立了合作与交流关系。在澳大利亚、加拿大、美国、俄罗斯等建有4个海外创新中心和人才工作站。国际学院成立两年以来，累计招收来自35个国家的246名留学生。开设世界名校预科项目，设立“4+1”工·管复合型中美本硕联合培养项目国际班作为高水平理工科大学建设国际化教学改革试点。在校学生赴国（境）外学习交流成常态化，学校每年提供过百万奖学金支持优秀学生赴外交流学习。
DGUT has signed cooperation and exchange agreements with several world-renowned universities, including but not limited to the Conservatoire National Des Arts et Métiers (CNAM), University of New Mexico, and more than 40 other famous universities. DGUT established DGUT-CNAM Institute, Dongguan University of Technology, the first Sino-foreign cooperative education institution in Dongguan in February 2017. DGUT-CNAM Institute issues a DGUT undergraduate diploma and a bachelor’s degree certificate (engineering) and CNAM bachelor’s degree certificate. DGUT-CNAM Institute has 20 French teachers, accounting for up to 50% of its total professional faculty. DGUT is carrying out a joint training project for doctoral students with some of the world’s top 100 universities, such as University of New South Wales, University of Nottingham, etc. So far, DGUT has established cooperation and exchange relationship with 45 universities and scientific research institutions in 25 countries and regions, such as the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, France, etc. DGUT has established 4 overseas innovation centers and talent work stations in Australia, Canada, USA and Russia. In the two years since the establishment of the International College of DGUT, it has enrolled 246 international students from 35 countries. DGUT has launched a preparatory course project with world-renowned universities, and an international Sino-US "4+1" engineering and management undergraduates and postgraduates joint training project, as a pilot project, to internationalize its teaching reforms during the establishment of a high-level science and engineering university. Student exchanges are implemented on a regular basis. Each year, DGUT provides millions in scholarships to support outstanding students to study and participate in exchange programs overseas.

二、东莞简介 Dongguan Overview
作为“粤港澳大湾区”的先行者东莞，广东省地级市，位于广东省中南部、珠江叁角洲东北部，北距广州50公里，南离深圳90公里，水路至香港47海里，至澳门48海里，是广州与香港之间水陆交通的必经之地。作为“粤港澳大湾区”先行者粤港澳大湾区（Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area），是由香港、澳门两个特别行政区和广东省的广州、深圳、东莞等九市组成的城市群，是国家建设世界级城市群和参与全球竞争的重要空间载体。
Dongguan is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province, and a pioneer in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which is a city agglomeration consisting of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region, and nine cities in Guangdong Province, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and others. It is an important platform for China to build a world-class city agglomeration and participate in global competition. It is located in the southern and central part of Guangdong, and northeast part of the Pearl River Delta, 50 km north from Guangzhou, 90 km south from Shenzhen, 47 nautical miles from Hong Kong, and 48 nautical miles from Macao. Dongguan connects Guangzhou and Hong Kong by land and through water.

Dongguan has a 1,700-year history, since the Three Kingdoms Period. It is an important birthplace of Lingnan culture, a pioneer in the modern history of China, is at the forefront of reform and opening-up, and is an important transportation hub and foreign trade port in Guangdong. It is rated as the best of the “four Guangdong tigers” and is known as the “world’s factory”. In addition, Dongguan is listed in the first batch of national comprehensive new-type urbanization pilot areas, and famous historic and cultural cities in Guangdong.

Dongguan is famous for its manufacturing industry, however, people who have visited Dongguan are impressed by its good ecological environment. Dongguan has spared no efforts to implement sustainability projects such as “Clean Water, Blue Sky, Green Land, Livable City, and Green GDP”, to realize economic development and environmental protection. Dongguan enjoys a spectacular landscape of lakes and mountains, with forest coverage rate reaching 36.7%, and woodland greenery rate reaching 98.7%, and is a truly international garden city.

三、外国留学生教育类型Education Modes for International Student

本科学历教育：学习期限为四年，每年9月初开学。完成教学方案规定的教学内容、毕业论文通过答辩，可取得毕业证书，符合学士学位规定条件者，授予学位证书。
Undergraduate education with bachelor’s degree: Students will undergo a four-year study program, with the program starting each September. Students who have completed teaching modules specified in the teaching plan and passed oral defense of their graduation thesis can obtain the diploma, and students who meet requirements for awarding bachelor’s degree can obtain the bachelor’s degree.
语言培训：学习期限不限，根据实际需要不定期开学，根据其中文程度分班。

汉语听说：按学生水平分初、中、高三个等级，均以培养学生的汉语交际能力为主要任务，训练学生在基本交际、生存、社会活动、个人信息、文化信息、媒体信息等交际活动中的汉语应用能力。 Chinese Listening and Speaking: Students are divided into three levels (Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced) based on their Chinese level. 3、住宿费 Accommodation Fee
学校拥有不同规格和条件的留学生公寓，各间宿舍都设有独立的卫生间、浴室和网络终端（均为空调房），住宿费5000元人民币/人/年（双人间）。
International student apartments of different sizes and conditions are available. All apartments are furnished with independent toilet, bathroom and network terminal (room with air conditioner). The accommodation fee is RMB5,000/student/year (on a twin-sharing basis).
4.医疗保险费 Medical Insurance Premium

备注：留学生在学期间必须有医疗保险。留学生所购买的保险至少要包括意外伤害和住院两个险种，可以在来华前购买医疗保险，也可以抵华后购买。被录取的留学生到校后，应当向学校提交保险公司出具的证明，证明文件的文字应为中文或英文。
Note: International students must have medical insurance during their study term. The insurance purchased by international students should at least cover accidental injury and hospitalization. Medical insurance can be purchased before or after arrival in China. Admitted international students should submit the insurance certificate issued by the insurance company to DGUT. The insurance certificate should be in English or Chinese.
5.生活费 Living Expenses
约12000-14000元/年（根据个人实际情况而定），用于每天生活开支，包括饮食、交通、通讯等。
Living expenses are approximately RMB12,000 – 14,000/year (depends on actual requirement of each student). Expenses include daily costs for food, transportation, communication, etc.
6. 签证费 Visa Fee
根据签证时长，约800元/年
