On Sept 26th, School of Economics and Management held a welcoming meeting for the 6 International students majoring in International Business, accompanied by Professor Liu Jihong, Deputy Dean of the International College of DGUT, Ms. Luo Lijuan, Deputy Director of Foreign Students Office, and Ms. Yao Xiaoman, their head teacher. Mr. Liu Wei, Deputy Dean of School of Economics and Management, Lao Dan, secretary of general Party branch, Ye Huiru, counselor for students and Kong Shuqing, teaching secretary, also attended. The welcoming meeting was chaired by Ms. Fan Lu.
To start with, Deputy Dean Liu Wei delivered a welcome speech and put forward three expectations. First of all, they were expected to adapt to the life in China, learn Chinese laws, rule and regulations of the school and get familiar with DGUT as soon as possible. Secondly, they were expected to learn Chinese language, culture and customs as best as they can. Last but not least, they were expected to be focused on schoolwork and cultivate themselves into outstanding persons. He also pointed out that he hoped they could take an active part in campus activities, make the best of the language environment and learning resources, and achieve academic excellence. Later general Party branch secretary Lao Dan introduced the educational objectives and specific requirements in detail. Next Professor Liu Jihong emphasized again school rules, regulations and disciplines, as well as expressing her wishes to them.
After the welcoming meeting, student counselor Ye Huiru kindly answered questions raised by these International so as to help them adjust to school life as soon as possible. The students also expressed their desire to have a wonderful wonderful studying life in DGUT.
