Opening ceremony of the 2018 autumn class of International College

On Sept 7th , 2018, opening ceremony of the 2018 autumn class of International College was held on Guancheng campus. Vice president Li Wenfang，leaders from relevent departments，police officer Li Guangzhi from guancheng public security bureau, teachers from International college and more than 60 students from 26 countries including 11 undergraduate students as well as foundation program students attended the ceremony.
To begin with, Hu Qinhua, dean of International College delivered a speech for the opening ceremony. He introduced the general situation of International College. He hoped that foreign students can adjust themself properly and adapt to life here as soon as possible, obey the rules and regulations in China and the university, take learning journey seriously at the meantime.
Afterwards, representative of Chinese teachers Lisa Sun and foreign teachers Dr. Joanna both expressed their wishes to students, hoping that students will have a happy life in the upcoming semester. As representatives of freshmen, Korean student Kim Jinai and Brazilian student Amanda also shared their true feeling studying in DGUT, Kim Jinai said that she could only say “Ni hao” and “Xie xie” 6 months ago, but now she is able to talk in Chinese, she’ve learned a lot in DGUT, it was really worthy.
Subsequently, vice president Li Wenfang awarded the freshmen scholarships to five outstanding undergraduate students. Police officer Li Guangzhi gave a detailed introduction about relevant regulations for foreign students, including visa, residence permit, accommodation registration, etc. He also reminded students to be cautious of economic fraud. Later, Liu Jihong, Deputy Dean of International College gave a presentation on program introduction and disciplinary requirements, so that the freshmen can get a preliminary understanding of their professions and courses, specified relevant laws and regulations of the school, and provided guidance for freshmen to adapt to the school life as soon as possible.
At last, opening ceremony of the 2018 autumn class of International College ended in a burst of applause.
