秋风送爽，情谊绵长。9月11日上午，2023学年秋季学期来华留学语言生开班仪式于莞城校区7103举行。东莞理工学院副校长杨敏林，东莞理工学院国际交流与合作部副部长、国际学院副院长陈佰满，副院长杨丹宇，教师代表以及来自13个国家的近20名留学生参加了活动。

In the morning of September 11, the 2023 Fall Semester Opening Ceremony of International College for foreign language students was held in 7103 of Guancheng Campus. The vice president of DGUT, Prof. Yang Minlin, the International Cooperation and Exchanges Office of DGUT, the deputy dean of International College, Prof. Chen Baiman, the associate dean of International College, associate Prof. Yang Danyu, representatives of teachers and nearly 20 international students from 13 countries attended the ceremony.

1、副校长杨敏林为留学生颁发校徽

The vice president of DGUT, Prof. Yang Minlin, presented the international students with the University badge

校徽，是一名学生身份的象征。开班仪式上，副校长杨敏林亲手为每一位留学生颁发校徽。从戴上校徽的那一刻起，标志着新生成为一名真正的莞工人。

The University badge is a symbol of a student's identity. At the opening ceremony, the vice president of DGUT, Prof. Yang Minlin personally presented each international student with the University badge. From the moment they put on the badge, it marks that the freshman becomes a new student of DGUT.

2、副院长陈佰满致欢迎辞

Welcome speech by the deputy dean of International College, Prof. Chen Baiman

副院长陈佰满对留学生的到来表示衷心和热烈的欢迎。他提出学习一门新语言不仅是掌握其词汇和语法，还要探索其文化与魅力，希望同学们不断拓宽国际视野、丰富跨文化交际体验。

The deputy dean of International College,  Prof. Chen Baiman expressed his heartfelt and warm welcome to the international students. He suggested that learning a new language is not only about mastering its vocabulary and grammar, but also about exploring its culture and charm, and hoped that students would continue to broaden their international horizons and enrich their cross-cultural communication experience.

3、教师代表郝丽霞发言

Teachers' representative's message

教研室主任郝丽霞作为教师代表发言。她以“砥砺前行，博采众长”为主题，对同学们提出殷切希望：拓宽学习与交流的渠道，博采众长。

Dr. Hao Lixia, director of the teaching and research department, spoke on behalf of the teachers. She put forward great hope to the students around the "Build on the strengths and learn from the strengths of others ". She hoped that students would broaden the channels of learning and communication, and learn from all the strengths.

4、留学生献花

International students presented flowers

教师节刚过，留学生代表为副校长杨敏林及学院教师代表献上鲜花，表达对教师们的节日祝福和谢意。

The international students presented flowers to the vice president of DGUT, Prof. Yang Minlin and representatives of the faculty to express their gratitude to all the faculty and staff of the International College of DGUT.

5、“破冰之旅”

"Icebreaker"

同学们做自我介绍并分享在中国的生活体验和学习经历，对老师们的热情与欢迎表示感谢，也对新学期充满了期待。

The students introduced themselves， shared their experiences of living and learning in China, expressed their gratitude to the teachers for their warmth and welcome, and looked forward to the new semester.

6、开学第一课

The First Lesson of the new semester

莞城公安分局李警官和辅导员陈海丹老师一道，为留学生们带来了出入境签证政策宣讲和安全知识讲座，帮助同学们进一步了解政策要求，规范学习生活。 

Guancheng Public Security Bureau police officer, Li Guangzhi and the instructor, Chen Haidan, brought a lecture on entry-exit visa policy and safety knowledge for the international students to help them further understand the policy requirements and standardize their study life.

7、参观校园：我与莞工的第一次见面

Campus visit: my first meeting with DGUT

为让来华留学生更好地了解学校、适应新环境，尽快融入校园文化生活，学院组织同学们参观了体育场、图书馆、饭堂和学校毕业生设计展。

In order to let the international students better understand the university, adapt to the new environment and integrate into the campus cultural life as soon as possible, the college organized the students to visit the school canteen, the stadium, the library and university's Graduate Design Exhibition.

简朴隆重、内容丰富的开班仪式开启了留学生的学习之旅。在充满活力的校园里，跨国友谊的小花正在悄悄发芽。

The simple and grand opening ceremony with rich content opened the learning journey of international students. The small flowers of transnational friendship are quietly sprouting in the vibrant campus.
